322 guidelines

322 Review strongly encourages online submissions.
All text-based works must be formatted as a Word Document (.doc) and submitted electronically to:

[email protected]

The subject area of each electronic submission must include the author’s name, the genre, the date, and the title of the submission.

Submissions should be typed, 12-point font, double-spaced with a minimum one inch margin. On the first page include your name, city of residence, the title of your submission, identification of genre, and an email address where you can be contacted.

322 Review produces both online and print editions. While all submissions are eligible to appear online and in print, the print edition of 322 Review is reserved for those submissions deemed most exemplary. 322 Review will do our best to notify entrants of our decision regarding submission as soon as possible. In hopes of expediting this process, specific submission deadlines have been established:

Online Edition Deadlines
Spring: February 15
Summer: May 15
Fall: August 15
Winter: November 15

Print Edition Deadlines
Spring: February 15
Fall: August 15

Simultaneous submissions are welcome. However, 322 Review must be contacted immediately should your submission be accepted for publication elsewhere.

Previously published work will not be accepted.
Multiple submissions—the submission of more than one work per genre—will not be read unless otherwise stated here.

Poetry submissions should be limited to three poems not exceeding thirty-six lines each.

Fiction submissions should be limited to 6,000 words. Flash Fiction submissions, fictions of 750 words or less, are welcome. Multiple submissions, consisting of one lengthy piece and one flash fiction piece or a total of three flash fiction pieces, are welcome.

Creative Nonfiction submissions should be limited to 6,000 words. Review essays must be accompanied by a short synopsis (one to three sentences) as well as complete MLA citations and bibliographies for each work being reviewed.

Mixed Media submissions, including photographs, drawings, paintings, sculptures, animations, music, and so on, must be formatted as a Portable Document File (.pdf) and accompanied by title, physical dimensions, and identification of media-type. Submissions are not limited by subject matter. Multiple submissions, though limited to no more than five pieces per submission, are welcome.

322 Review, excited by new and changing media, is committed to showcasing exceptional hyperfiction. To ensure proper online installation, hyperfiction submissions must include both HTML and CSS language. Hyperfiction will not be featured in print editions.

We look forward to receiving your submissions. Best of luck.
